Krave’m Cakes was formed in San Antonio, Texas in 2013 as a home bakery specializing in custom cakes and cookies.  In 2014, Krave’m Cakes moved to the Houston area.  In 2016, after the birth of the owner’s youngest daughter, she quit her corporate job as an Accountant and ran Krave’m Cakes full time.  Today, Krave’m Cakes still specializes in custom cakes and cookies but we’ve also added sweet treats of all kinds to our repertoire.

In May 2019, Krave’m Cakes became a brick and mortar.  Today, Krave’m Cakes still specializes in custom cakes and cookies but we’ve also added sweet treats of all kinds to our repertoire.  In 4 short months we went from a one woman show to a staff of 9.  And just 11 short months later we opened Smack Cooking School that is adjoined to the bakery.

Krista (Blue) Friemel

Owner

Krista is the owner/founder and Master Decorator of Krave’m Cakes and Head Chef at Smack – A Cooking School.  Her favorite color is blue and her favorite sport is softball.  Her birthday is February 15 and her favorite holiday is Christmas.  She married her husband Todd in 2015.  Together they have 2 daughters….Hailey & Kiah.  When she isn’t baking/cooking, Krista enjoys sewing, cross-stitching, gardening and spending time with her family.  Krista started Krave’m Cakes in 2013 from her home in San Antonio.  Six short months later, she suffered the incredible loss of her mother.  Krave’m Cakes has played a huge part in getting her through such a tough time in her life.  Krista grew up in the kitchen with her mom and both grandmothers, but when it comes to decorating, she is self-taught.  Krista’s favorite types of cakes to do are ALL of them.  Fondant sculpting is one of her strengths and even though it always scares her a little, she really enjoys it.  She also enjoys sculpted and carved cakes.  Attention to details and putting a personal touch on an order is what sets her apart from the competition.
